Lucy Egger has enjoyed careers as an Actor, Movement teacher and Music teacher before moving seriously to composition and songwriting several years ago. After training in Composition, Jazz Studies and Acting at the University of Wollongong, a career in music got delayed as acting opportunities arose. She continued her theatre training for two years with Jacque Lecoq at his renowned school in Paris, L'Ecole Internationale de Theatre, whose methods, she feels has made her a strong and versatile composer.
Much of Lucy's work to date is for theatre – a medium she loves. She composes music for UK theatre outfit, Pants On Fire, having just completed songs for their version of Pinocchio.
Previous collaborations include Labyrinthine, Oink!, Tossed, The Fumidor, Splice, and Ovid's Metamorphoses for which the company won The Best of Edinburgh Award at the Edinburgh Festival, and was nominated for a Best New Musical award. She wrote music and lyrics for the comedy musical, Open For Inspection, and has arranged and composed songs for two childrens CD's (currently working on a third).
One day, in the spaces between raising her young children and expanding her work into TV and film, she hopes to finish her own CD of number one hits.
