David Chapman

David Chapman is an accomplished composer, programmer and musician who played and composed songs for various Sydney bands until forming the company Zig Zag Lane with his partner Derek Allan in 1993.

After joining the band Icehouse he co-wrote and recorded the album Big Wheel with Iva Davies as well as co-arranged and performed two seasons of the Sydney Dance Company's highly successful production of "Berlin".

Other compositional credits include television themes such as Enough Rope (winner of the 2003 APRA/AGSC Television Theme of the Year Award), Hungry Beast, the Outdoor Room, The Gruen Transfer, AFP, Catalyst and countless others.

He has written station ID's for Channel 7, ABC and SBS. In 2008 he won the Johnny Dennis Music Award for his piece "Black River Ramble".

He also wrote and performed the music for the award winning children's series The Upside Down Show and Penlope K (by the way) and has written the music for countless documentaries and film trailers.
