Tom Jordan is a 19 year old Australian singer / songwriter - based in Los Angeles
As a young singer Tom first began solo performances busking on Sydney, Australia’s Northern Beaches when he was nine, from which as a ten year old he was invited to participate in the 2004 Manly Youth Busking By The Sea Competition. He went on to win that competition in the under 13 division and then the open division of National Busking Competition both that year and subsequently in 2005 as well.
His songwriting career began at the tender age of 11 when he wrote a song in 6th grade class called “Back Home”. Tom says “it was about going shopping with Mum and not wanting to be there”. His dislike of shopping aside, the song won him awards for original composition in the Music and Arts Talent Search Teen Writers competition in early 2005.
By 2007 Tom was touring with Guy Sebastian as his support act and has supported him on three of his national tours playing sold out shows all over Australia, most recently on guy’s 2010 “Like It Like That” Tour. He has also played a series of shows all over the country supporting artists including Natalie Bassingthwaite, Diesel, INXS, Renee Cassar, Mental As Anything Daryl Braithwaite, Ian Moss and others.
Despite his age, 18, Tom’s self titled debut album was released in 2010. Having already released an EP in 2007 and been on a US writing trip working with some of the best writers out of New York, Los Angeles and Nashville, Tom released the album littered with powerful acoustic pop songs, proving that he is a serious artist and musician.
In 2010 Tom was a featured vocalist in the NSW ‘School’s Spectacular’, and was featured again in 2011, performing his own original song ‘The Greatest Thing’ amongst other songs.
In October 2010 Tom went on his second songwriting trip to the USA for his forthcoming album due to be released in 2011, co-writing with songwriters who have written for James Brown, Plain White T’s, Bon Jovi, Hilary Duff, Aqualung and many others.
He went on his 3rd trip to the USA in July of 2011 working with many more credible songwriters.
Tom is also a graduate of the prestigious NSW Talent Development Project (2011).
